Ziel ist es, durch die Anschaffung neuer Forschungsger\u00e4te die Chancen bei der Einwerbung von Drittmitteln zu erh\u00f6hen.<\/h3>\n\t<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element\" >\r\n\t<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\r\n\t\t<p>Zur angewandten Forschung geh\u00f6rt es auch, immer wieder andere Perspektiven einzunehmen. Mal gehen die Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler ganz nah heran \u2013 mal betrachten sie die Dinge auf Abstand, um frische Erkenntnisse zu gewinnen. Neues Equipment soll diesen Perspektivwechsel an der THGA nun erleichtern: Ein Raman-Spektrometer erm\u00f6glicht es den Materialwissenschaftlern k\u00fcnftig, Alterungsprozesse von Kunststoffen und Metallen hochaufl\u00f6send mit Lasertechnik zu erforschen. Eine neue Drohne mit speziellen Sensoren sp\u00fcrt Umweltver\u00e4nderungen aus der Vogelperspektive auf. An der THGA nutzt er Satellitendaten, ebenso wie Luftaufnahmen, historische Karten oder Bodenproben, um Ver\u00e4nderungen im Untergrund auf die Spur zu kommen. \u201ePflanzen reagieren z. B. sensibel auf schnelle Bodenbewegungen, weil sie dann pl\u00f6tzlich nasse F\u00fc\u00dfe bekommen und die Bl\u00e4tter dadurch braun werden\u201c, erkl\u00e4rt Prof. Rudolph. \u201eSie ver\u00e4ndern sich auch durch austretendes Gas, etwa Methan in ehemaligen Bergbauregionen.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Solche Vegetationsdefekte kann die neue Hightech-Drohne aus der Luft ausfindig machen: Sie nimmt multispektrale und thermale Bilder und Videos auf, aus denen die Experten vom Forschungszentrum Nachbergbau der THGA wertvolle R\u00fcckschl\u00fcsse auf Bodenver\u00e4nderungen und -strukturen ziehen k\u00f6nnen. Prof. Dr. Michael Prange erforscht, wie Materialien altern. Auch er kombiniert viele Methoden, um die Prozesse im Detail zu verstehen, die in Kunststoffen oder Metallen vor sich gehen \u2013 wie sich Rost ausbreitet oder Plastik zerf\u00e4llt. Mit dem neuen Raman-Spektrometer, das nun an der THGA angeschafft wird, k\u00f6nnen solche Ph\u00e4nomene mittels Laserlicht vertieft erforscht werden. \u201eVereinfacht gesagt, zeigt uns das Licht, wo das Material Sch\u00e4den hat\u201c, erkl\u00e4rt Prof. Prange. \u201eDamit k\u00f6nnen wir die Untersuchung von Antikorrosionsbeschichtungen verbessern.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>So lassen sich die Hinterlassenschaften der Industriekultur wie F\u00f6rdert\u00fcrme oder Hoch\u00f6fen ebenso auf Rost untersuchen wie Oldtimer. \u201eBestenfalls kann der Zerfall so nicht nur verlangsamt, sondern ganz gestoppt werden\u201c, sagt Prof. Prange. Die Erkenntnisse seiner Grundlagenforschung sind daher ebenso spannend f\u00fcr Kunsthistoriker, wie f\u00fcr die Restaurierungswissenschaften oder die Industrie.
